Week 2 wasn’t supposed to be good. Yet in typical college football fashion, it delivered in a big way.

Texas got walloped, Notre Dame almost got beat on a niche streaming service and FSU had a player propose to his girlfriend after losing on a Hail Mary to an FCS team.

As always, we’ve reviewed the film and are ready to give it another go. Let’s review last week’s results.

WEEK 3

Cameron

  • Northwestern -3 vs. Duke (1 unit) - As our friends at Split Zone Duo say “It’s time”.

  • Kent State vs. Iowa Under 56.5 (2 units) - Iowa plays solid defense and Spencer Petras is god awful, I do not see this reaching 56.5.

  • Ohio State -26.5 vs. Tulsa (2 units)- Ohio State should torch these guys. I imagine it will be all business this week from the Buckeyes.

  • Virginia +8 vs. North Carolina (1 unit)- Don’t look now, but ole Bronco got something cooking in Charlottesville.

  • Auburn +6 vs. Penn State (1 unit)- I am still not sold on Sean Clifford yet. I think this game will be close regardless.

  • Fresno State +11.5 vs. UCLA (1 unit)- Fresno is gritty, this is the DTR collapse game.

Sam

  • UCF -6.5 vs. Louisville (2 Units): UCF’s offense is starting to get moving under Dillon Gabriel and the addition of running back Isaiah Bowser who transferred in from Northwestern. Malik Cunningham is Louisville’s only offense.

  • Cincinnati -3.5 vs. Indiana (1 Unit): Desmond Ridder has put up decent stats through two games so far. Luke Fickell and the Bearcats still have CFP hope and Indiana and Tom Allen haven’t sold me on anything this year.

  • Coastal Carolina vs. Buffalo Over 57.5 (1 Unit): Coastal loves to put up points but their defense isn’t great. Buffalo played flat against Nebraska and I expect them to put up some points this game.

  • Alabama vs Florida Over 59.5 (1 Unit): I think Bama is going to beat Florida pretty easily but I think this game is set up for a lot of points to be scored. Florida still has no identity on offense but they will be on the board for a few scores this game.

  • BYU +4 vs. Arizona State (1 Unit): Home night game for the Mormons this week and they cover against an Arizona State team who has played no one yet this year.

Tyler

Nebraska vs. -22.5 Oklahoma (1 Unit): Oklahoma hasn’t hit peak form quite yet, but this has more to do with my lack of confidence in the Huskers. NU hasn’t played an offense like this in 2021. The Huskers’ offensive line and their receiver’s inability to create separation is problematic. I think OU wins comfortably.

-3.5 Cincinnati vs. Indiana (2 Units): Cincy played a bad first half last week and I like them to rebound. I’m not convinced IU is nearly as good as last year. Plus, Cincy has to win this game if they have any false hope of making the CFP.

-2 Nevada vs. Kansas State (1 Unit): K-State really struggled offensively after QB Skylar Thompson went down last week. Jay Norvell has the Wolfpack buzzing and should get looks for a new job in the offseason. Nevada beat a salty Cal defense earlier this year and I think they do the same in Manhattan.

Arkansas State +16.5 vs. Washington (3 Units): This feels like free money to me. John Donovan’s UW offense is an absolute disgrace. They’ve scored exactly 17 points combined in their first two games. Why should I expect them to beat Arkansas State by that much?

Auburn vs. Penn State UNDER 53.5 (1 Unit): I don’t trust either offense very much. I think the scoreline will be early similar to the Wisconsin-PSU score in Week 1.

Oklahoma State vs. -4 Boise State (1 Unit): Spencer Sanders and the Cowboys have failed to impress this season. I know Boise crumbled against UCF but I think they rebound under the lights on the blue turf.

Mississippi State vs. Memphis: Something stupid will happen. This is a blood bank guarantee. MSU fans are gonna try and sneak the cowbells into the Liberty Bowl. Sping the wheel of stupid: brawl, a million points and no defense, a driving rainstorm, Mike Leach problematic comments…or any combination of these things.

Overall Record

Sam: 2-4 (-2 Units)

Cameron: 5-5 (-1 Unit)

Tyler: 8-3 (+7 Units)
