What did we just watch?
Sweet Home Alabama – In the premier SEC matchup of the night, we got a front-row seat to an absolute show through three quarters. Punches, counter punches, jabs and haymakers, we saw a bit of everything.
And yet, like most years, Bama reigns supreme. What was a back-and-forth game finished with Bama winning 42-28 behind a star performance from quarterback Jaylen Milroe and that offensive line. The Tigers held tight and looked right in it for an upset through three quarters, only for quarterback Jaylen Daniels to get crunched and exit the game for good.
It feels a bit like we were robbed of a potential classic ending…but in the end, Bama rolls on and look ripe for a berth with Georgia for the SEC Championship.
Horns hold on – In what was one of the wilder games of the day, we got a good look at the ups and downs of the B12 conference. But in the end, it was Texas who came up big and got a stop on a controversial fourth-and-goal decision from Klieman and the Cats, and held on to win 33-30.
Despite a 17-point lead early on, Texas did about everything in its power to blow this game and their chance of the B12 championship and CFP birth. But the Longhorn defense made plays when they needed to, and the Horns survived. They now are the only hope for the conference in the playoff race.

Bye, bye Bedlam – We’ll forever be sad about the end of Bedlam, but at least the last one was a doozy. Led by Ollie Gordon and quarterback Allan Bowman, the Cowboys notched a monster 27-24 come-from-behind victory to wrap up the rivalry once and for all.
The Cowboys now control their own destiny, and can now have eyes toward Dallas for a probable date with Texas in the conference title game. What a season for Gundy. That man refuses to relent.
Big dawgs eat – Certain things in life feel inevitable, and right now Georgia football feels like one of those things. After a bit of back-and-forth, UGA stretched their legs and downed Mizzou 30-21, to extend their win streak to 26 straight.
UGA quarterback Carson Beck and the offense labored at times (like most of the season), but they made plays when they needed to. Survive and advance. Can’t wait for UGA-Bama in a few weeks.

Tyler from Spartanburg – Earlier this week, a “Tyler from Spartanburg” called into Dabo Swinney’s weekly radio show and lambasted the Tigers and his coaching job this season. Well, Tyler, you earned a helmet sticker, my man.
Tyler from Spartanburg got Dabo all riled up, and he got his team all riled up. The Tigers came out swinging and knocked off No. 15 Notre Dame. Clemson wasted no time and made life hard for ND quarterback Sam Hartman.
Just when Clemson is out…they pull you back in? (Just kidding.)
Lane Train – Jimbo loses a close game. Ole Miss and Lane Kiffin act like trolls. Ole Miss somehow wins another close game and remains ripe for an 11-1 season.
What a big dumb year for the Rebels. I don’t think it is, but what if this is one of the nails in Jimbo’s coffin? Could the Aggies kick Jimbo to the curb like he did that Christmas tree?
Army? – All year, I’ve been spouting about how Air Force was a wagon, and well buddy, the wagon’s wheels fell off today. Army pulled one of the stunners of the day, crunching the Falcon offense and notching a big 23-3 victory.
Good for Army and all, but woooof that stinks for Air Force. Just when you thought they might go 12-0 and get a NY6 berth.

Goodnight, USC – Credit where credit is due, this game ruled. Offensive innovation was at the forefront and both OCs were in their damn bags. Points in bunches. Awesome quarterback play. We had it all.
But at the end of this track meet, the better team won. UW hung a smooth 52 on this miserable USC defense, and they keep on trucking. For USC, that could be the last we see of Caleb Williams? I’m skeptical he’ll play much if the season is basically over.

Nasty, nasty work – I wish to be as wrong about anything as this man was about the Iowa-Northwestern game today.
If it wasn’t enough to have a barely-above-thirty O/U, these two teams decided to poop their pants for three hours. Iowa pooped slightly less and notched an earth-shattering 10 second-half points to win. Just hit fast forward on these two team’s games for the rest of the year.
Huskers humbled – In what was building for weeks, today the Huskers weren’t able to overcome terrible offense, and lost to a paltry Michigan State team 20-17. Haarberg is just not good enough, and if they keep playing him the Huskers are always going to have these issues.
Nebraska knows a thing or two about below-par quarterbacks, and he has to rank pretty highly on that list.
Y’all OK? Hey, Wisconsin and Florida…y’all need some milk? What in the heck happened today, guys? Losing to Indiana and Arkansas is quite disgusting

I can’t look away – Presented without comment.
